Chadelle is a lifelong resident of Cincinnati, Ohio, along with her husband. She graduated from Hampton University in 2003. During her time away from working in Architecture, she has volunteered for a faith-based organization, putting her B. Arch to use in renovation projects around Ohio and Pennsylvania. Currently, she works remotely for Redlef Group Architects in Seabrook, MD.
Some of her favorite things to do are: entertain, create her own clay creations, and volunteer her time to help others. Her passion is for Residential Architecture. It was sparked as a child by her mother taking her to model houses and construction sites, as well as her grandfather’s ability to design and build seemingly anything. Becoming a Registered Architect has been her childhood dream, one that her parents always supported and encouraged her to reach for. She’s excited to enhance her contributions to the community by combining her love of learning about people and being able to find solutions to their problems through beautiful designs that will benefit them in their daily life. Always up for a challenge, she’s eager to take on the ARE, and come out victorious!
Raven Mills currently attends Hampton University, where she is studying architecture. An important goal of hers is to ensure she is part of diversifying the world of architects. She desires to be not only an architect, but an inspiration to other black women who want to succeed in the field. When she first began her architecture related courses, she knew she was in the right major. She discovered new levels of patience within herself, whether it was waiting for glue to dry on foam core models or finding ways to correctly center and margin axonometrics on white paper. All of what she loved as a child coincided with this profession. Growing up, Mills loved creating things. She enjoyed seeing something in mind and using the tools around her to make ideas into physical objects. As a young black woman attending a Historically Black University, she understands that she can become a role model for so many individuals like herself. Raven understands that she is able to fulfill the dreams of her younger self, which ultimately makes life worth living.
