Gustavo Diez Presilla, Assoc. AIA, graduated at the Universidad de Oriente, Santiago de Cuba, in 1989 with a Diploma de Arquitecto. As a student he participated in several national and international architectural competitions. After graduation he worked for 17 years in design and production, advancing from junior to senior positions. Working on diverse projects, including educational, residential, and commercial, has given him broad exposure to many aspects of the architectural profession. In Cuba, he participated in several national architectural exhibitions.

Longing to leave the political and social turmoil of his homeland, Gustavo came to the United States in 2007, where he worked for a year in Manhattan as a CAD operator. During the 2009 economic downturn, he took unemployment training classes in Revit, AutoCAD and 3d Max. In 2013, he began working with SNS Architects & Engineers, PC where, during the past six years, he completed his AXP program and began the process of taking the ARE.
