Katty, originally from Ecuador, graduated high school in Guayaquil and immigrated to the United States in 1998 where she enrolled in high school and graduated yet again with honors. Katty holds a B.A. in Architecture from NYIT.  She currently works for Nicholas Petschek Architecture in New York City as a Project Designer. Katty has over 13 years of experience in high end residential in NYC and summer homes in Fire Island.

Within the AIA, Katty is the associate director of the Long Island Chapter, co-chair of the Emerging Professionals Committee and leader of the ARE Study Group as well as the newsletter coordinator of the Women in Architecture Committee. She believes that collaboration among its members is critical to help advance and promote our industry and to assist the AIA for future generations.

Katty loves making Play-Doh and slime with her daughters and enjoys knitting, crocheting, needle point. After architecture, yarn is her passion!
