Sandra has a B.A. in Communication and Public Relations from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), and a M.A in Global Leadership and Sustainable Development from Hawaii Pacific University. She graduated in 2015 from UTSA with an M.Arch.
Sandra was the 2016 AIA’s Committee on the Environment (COTE) Scholar and the lead researcher and primary author of “The Habits of High-Performance Firms”. In 2018, Sandra was awarded the AIA San Antonio Rising Star Award and was also nominated to serve on the National Council of Accreditation Board’s Experience and Advisory Committee. She is currently representing AIA San Antonio on the City of San Antonio’s Energy & Building’s Technical Working Group to develop San Antonio’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. Sandra also served on the USGBC South Texas Regional Council as well as COTE San Antonio and is an active member of the CPS Energy Stakeholders Group. She was also recently awarded the Texas Society of Architect’s Associate Member of the Year Award.
Sandra has recently completed all her AXP requirements and is on sabbatical, with the support of the Architects Foundation’s 2019 Jason Pettigrew Scholarship, and is working on her licensure exams.
