Accordion sensation Hanzhi Wang—winner of the Young Concert Artists International Auditions—brings fearless virtuosity and breathtaking artistry to The Octagon. From the sparkling brilliance of Rameau and the luminous lyricism of Mozart to Barber’s electrifying, jazz-infused Excursion, this dynamic program showcases the accordion in all its power, color, and surprise. At its heart is Wang’s own "Mountain Song," inspired by her pilgrimage to a sacred mountain in China’s Yunnan Province. Stay after for a wine reception and meet this extraordinary artist up close.

Preserving the Past, Designing the Future: The Octagon’s Next Chapter

Join the Architects Foundation at The Octagon for an exclusive behind‑the‑scenes look at the upcoming renovation of this National Historic Landmark. The program will be led by Carl Elefante, FAIA—a nationally respected architect known for his leadership in sustainability, resilience, and historic preservation, and a former AIA President—alongside Carl Holden, AIA, Partner at Hartman Cox Architects specializing in historic preservation and intimately involved in various projects at The Octagon. They are joined by Kathy Dixon, FAIA, Principal of DC-based K. Dixon Architecture and Architects Foundation Board Member. Members of the Architects Foundation team will also share insights into the project’s vision.
