Carleigh Pope is an Architectural Designer at BNIM Architects in Kansas City, MO. She has been working with BNIM since Spring 2020 while completing her Master of Architecture at Kansas State University in May 2021.

Carleigh has contributed to several key projects in her time at BNIM, including the Adaptive Reuse and Redevelopment of Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA, and the MSU Temple Hall Renovation and Addition in Springfield, MO. Her passion for design comes from an admiration of how space can shape the everyday experience of those within. She hopes to continue studying how to create meaningful spaces that bring peace and opportunity to thrive in the communities they occupy.

Outside the workplace, Carleigh sits on the NOMA Kansas City Executive Board as the Public Relations Chair. She strives to build the field with people more reflective of those they design for. The next step for her is getting licensed, then guiding other underrepresented groups to limit the resistance on the path to, through, and after architecture school. Her goal is to deconstruct the glass ceiling and challenge the systematic image of what an architect is.
