Ana was born and raised in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. As the daughter of a practicing architect , she was immersed in the world of design at an early age. By way of academic merit, Ana earned an international scholarship and was able to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from CAPLA at the University of Arizona and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2022. Ana’s engagement in seminars, conferences, and local conversations made her aware of the urgency of sustainability in architectural design. By adopting a critical stance on the climate crisis as a student, Ana was awarded the 2021 COTE Top Ten for Students Award. Having received the prestigious award, Ana was selected as a juror for the 2022 AIA Architecture Professional Awards. Upon graduating, Astiazaran began her professional career at Corgan in the Commercial sector of the Phoenix office. Ana has become an advocate for the profession since she continues to be inspired by women in architecture and understands the importance of representation within the profession. She currently serves as the 2023-2024 Arizona State Associate Representative and the 2024-2025 AIA Arizona Associates Director, chairing multiple events for young professionals, such as the 2024 AIA Arizona Associates Gathering.
