Ana Orosco, AIA, NCARB is an architect and researcher engaged in re-imagining practices around housing resilience and sustainability, particularly in coastal areas. She is currently a Research Assistant and Ph.D. student at FIBER (Florida Institute for Built Environment Resilience), an Adjunct Professor at FAMU, and the founder of Rubedo Design Collective. During her years practicing in Louisiana, she worked on a wide range of projects, from the Rockefeller Refuge Center to the Tulane Chapel. With a Master of Architecture from Louisiana State University (LSU) and a dual Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and Education from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ, Brazil), she holds a unique blend of professional experience, coastal research, and pedagogical practice. Her current doctoral research is part of a HUD grant that explores the intersection between government control levers and the development of resilient affordable housing. This research aligns with her passion for creating sustainable and equitable housing solutions, particularly in vulnerable coastal regions.
