Dominic Holiday is a designer and incoming Master of Architecture candidate at Yale University whose work explores the intersection of design, culture, and urban identity. Originally from Cleveland, he approaches design as a tool for community engagement, accessibility, and equitable collaboration.
After graduating from Kent State University, Dominic worked as a designer in Washington, D.C. for three years, where his experiences further shaped his interest in social frameworks and the ways architecture mediates identity, belonging, and collective experience.
As an aspiring licensed architect, he is interested in critically rethinking the role of the designer and expanding the potential of architectural practice beyond its conventional boundaries. He sees architects not only as form-makers, but as orchestrators more directly attuned to communities, systems of engagement, and the social frameworks that shape everyday life. His work advocates for moving away from design processes that result in prescribed use and instead toward forms of design that enable facilitated agency and collective participation. Through his continued research, he aims to develop a future practice centered on design interventions that are deeply responsive to use, agency, and the evolving relationships between people and the built environment.
