Danielle Encela is a Senior Technical Designer and Senior Associate at Page in Washington, DC, where she leads projects in modernization and preservation across civic, cultural, and federal sectors from concept through construction. She was recognized as the 2021 Emerging Professional by the Association for Preservation Technology DC Chapter, where she now serves as Secretary, and was recently elected as the 2025–2027 AIA DC State/Territory Associate Representative to the AIA National Associates Committee.
The daughter of Filipino immigrants, Danielle was born and raised in Germany before moving to the United States to pursue architecture. Her heritage, European upbringing, and American practice give her a global perspective and a deep appreciation for the cultural narratives embedded in the built environment. She earned a master’s degree in Historic Preservation, formalizing her passion for the intersection of history and design.
Danielle’s leadership extends beyond her professional practice. She advocates for and mentors emerging professionals through AIA and APT DC, drawing on her lived experience as an immigrant, woman, and mother to foster equity and community in the profession. She believes preservation thrives when diverse voices inform how we interpret, protect, and sustain our shared heritage.
