Emily Van’s interest in architecture started in Hanoi, where she grew up building LEGO sets and crafting miniature houses. That early love for making things slowly grew into a fascination with space, structure, and design. Surrounded by art, music, teaching, and math, she found that architecture was the one place where all her interests came together—creative, precise, and full of potential.

She’s currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Design at the University of Washington, with plans to continue into a master’s program. Emily hopes to become both an architect and a professor, using design as a way to make meaningful change and to inspire future generations the same way she’s been inspired by those around her.
