Faiza Duale is a multidisciplinary designer with more than three years of experience in architecture design and implementation. She was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, and currently resides in Minnesota. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Dunwoody College of Technology. Throughout her academic journey, she consistently pushed herself to think creatively and critically, striving for excellence in every project she undertook. She co-established the NOMAS Dunwoody chapter and served as VP and then as president. She gained firsthand experience through internships, workshops with different firms, and volunteering opportunities for AIAS, Women in Architecture, and Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. She received the Charlie Prize Leadership Award, the Dunwoody Community Service Award, and other academic honors. Faiza works as a Project Designer at MDA to pursue her desire to focus on community-based projects and design spaces to serve people's needs. After graduation, she continued volunteering for AIA, The BOLD, and the AIS Committee and served as a team facilitator for AIA Search for Shelter 2024. In addition to her technical skills, she is enthusiastic about designing spaces that enhance the lives of those who inhabit them. Faiza has a strong passion for sustainable design and environmental creation.
