Kamryon Johnson is a rising 2nd year student at the University of Detroit Mercy's School of Architecture and Community Development. Born and raised in the city of Detroit, she attended Cass Technical High School where she was able to preview architecture. Attending the Michigan ArcPrep program through Detroit Public Schools, she earned an internship with ROSSETTI Architects. She graduated as 1 of the 27 valedictorians and earned a scholarship and internship because of the Hip Hop Architecture Camp Scholarship. She traveled and interned at Bergmeyer in Boston where she partnered with Hip Hop architect, Michael Ford to create a Hip Hop theme dorm room. Kamryon is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in architecture, on the 5-year plan to obtain her masters. She is a strong believer in following her passions and creating opportunities for people within her community. Along with acquiring her licensure, she is interested in starting a nonprofit to be a resource for the youth of Detroit.
