Leillah is a rising freshman at Kent State University, where she plans to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in architecture. Her passion for architecture comes from her experiences living around the world, especially in places like Uganda and Tanzania. Growing up surrounded by different cultures shaped the way she sees spaces and how people interact with them. Leillah is inspired by the idea of incorporating culture into architecture, whether that means using local materials or design elements that feel familiar to the people using the space. She believes architecture is one of the easiest and most powerful ways to bring people together. When people feel welcomed and accommodated in a space, it creates connection, comfort, and a sense of belonging. She hopes to become a licensed architect and eventually own her own firm, where she can fully bring her ideas to life. Through her work, Leillah wants to design spaces that feel meaningful and connected to the cultures and communities they serve.
