Monica Magcalas

Monica Magcalas is the NOMAtlanta Co-director of Project Pipeline and a board member of the Bill Harrison Foundation. As a co-director of the NOMAtlanta Project Pipeline, she has had the privilege of giving back to the industry by serving as a mentor and educator to students. Monica's journey in the industry began when a Filipino architect visited her high school to present plans for their new campus. Seeing someone who looked like her in that role made her realize that she too could become an architect. This experience instilled in her a deep-rooted value of giving back. Monica is deeply committed to offering guidance and support to young aspiring designers and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the field. She currently resides in Atlanta, GA and holds a position as a Technical Designer at Gensler. She finds it exciting to work on workplace projects while finding ways to provide opportunities for the next generation of designers.
