Ricky DiChicco recently graduated from the CAD/Architecture program at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School. Architecture has become more than just a career interest for him; it is the skill he wants to build his future around. He is especially drawn to traditional, detail-driven residential architecture because he believes buildings should have character, craftsmanship, and meaning.
Throughout high school, he worked hard to turn his interest into real experience. He completed drafting projects in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, SolidWorks, and hand drafting, and he also completed over 100 hours of unpaid internship experience with Mathew Cummings, where he was held to professional standards and learned how much discipline the field requires. Along with architecture, he served as class president, Student Representative, football captain, and lacrosse captain, and was certified as both an apprentice and certified drafter through the ADDA.
His goal is to study architecture, become licensed, and eventually build a successful design-focused firm rooted in craftsmanship and strong values. This scholarship would help him continue pursuing that path and allow him to keep developing the skills, work ethic, and education needed to make a real impact in the architectural field.
