Soniha Nuzrat is an architectural associate at Dietz & Company Architects in Springfield, MA. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture in Bangladesh, where she practiced for six years before pursuing her Master of Architecture in the United States. During her graduate studies, she received the AIA Medal of Academic Excellence and the AIA Ohio Student Design Award (2nd Prize) for her thesis exploring courtyard housing in New York City as a strategy to strengthen community connections and address social isolation in dense urban environments, emphasized modular design, culturally adaptive frameworks to promote resilience and sustainable living. At Dietz, Soniha has contributed to multi-family housing and community facility projects, Historic renovation projects. Building on her personal research, she is now focused on advancing modular housing solutions that respond to climate, affordability, and cultural context. She has presented Urban Breathing Spaces at the AIA Boston National Conference (2025), volunteers with NCARB’s Exam Committee, and is active with the WMAIA Emerging Professionals group, where she received the Emerging Professionals Grant. Currently pursuing licensure, Soniha is dedicated to earning her architectural license and is actively preparing for the exams. She remains committed to advancing her career and contributing meaningfully to the profession.
