In the segment, Architects Foundation board member Michael Marshall, FAIA, NOMA, reflects on his career journey, as well as the need for diversity, representation, and mentorship in the architecture profession. As the video reminds us, we still have a long way to go towards achieving a diverse design profession – according to the National Council of Architectural Registration Board’s (NCARB) 2023 data, only 7% of registered architects identify as Black, while 18% identify as Asian and 21% as Hispanic or Latino.

We’re proud to report that 80% of our scholars graduate with a degree in architecture.
