Visiting the Octagon Museum

Self-guided tours:

Thursday – Saturday, 1-4pm
Admission: FREE

No special appointments or tour times necessary! Explore the house at your own pace, discover the lives of various people who lived in the house in the 1810s, and get comfortable (yes, you can use the furniture!)

Getting Here:
The Octagon is located at 1799 New York Avenue, NW, on the corner of 18th Street and New York Avenue NW.

Metro: The closest metro stations are Farragut West (Blue, Orange, and Silver lines) and Farragut North (Red line). The Octagon is a 10-15 minute walk south of the stations.

Parking: Metered street parking is available surrounding the Octagon. Parking garages are also available, although many are closed on the weekends. The Octagon does not have any dedicated site parking due to our location in downtown Washington, DC.

Private guided tours are available by appointment for groups of 5 or more. Tours last approximately 45 minutes, and are $10/adults and $5/students (discounts available for groups of 10+). We ask for at least 24 hour notice when scheduling a tour. Guided tours are only available outside of regular open hours.
